The fact that support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz in TVs is only an intermediate stage in the development of video devices became clear last year. By that time, not only monitors had a higher frequency, but TV manufacturers themselves demonstrated prototypes with support for 144 Hz - for example, Hisense .

Now this frequency will be in serial models of Samsung. But Vizio, the third-largest TV-seller in the US, has gone furthest. She showed the M50QXM-K01 model with support for 240Hz HDMI inputs.

The resolution, of course, cannot correspond to 4K - chips with such a bandwidth for household appliances do not yet exist, so it is limited at the Full HD level, that is, 1920x1080. But after all, there are no games that can maintain high detail at such FPS either.

As the name suggests, the Vizio M50QXM-K01 will have a 50-inch LCD screen with direct backlight. The company did not say how many local dimming zones it will have, but it is worth noting that the most advanced 50-inch Vizio models currently on sale with Full Array LED backlighting do not exceed 30 such zones .

But at the same time, they support Dolby Vision, HDR10 + and all new gaming protocols like ALLM and VRR, as well as FreeSync synchronization, because they have four HDMI 2.1. The new model will have the same and, of course, support for 4K120 video signal.

Vizio M50QXM-K01 will be available later this year, but the price has not yet been announced. However, it is unlikely to be high, given the company's policy.
