The secret of its success is the dual Folded Motion XT tweeters built directly behind the XStat electrostatic panel. The unobtrusive tweeter cabinet design disappears behind the panel, eliminating high frequency diffraction and increasing mid / high frequency phase coherence and time alignment, offering superior dispersion characteristics. The Motion XT's folded tweeters are uniquely designed and work by moving air (creating sound) perpendicular to the folded diaphragm lugs, similar to how an accordion works. This extremely low mass diaphragm compresses air and requires almost 90% less travel than a conventional 1-inch dome tweeter. This gives instant response times with dramatically minimized levels of distortion.
