Marten Mingus Septet will be shown at Munich High End 2023

Swedish audio engineer Marten believes that the Mingus Septet acoustics, approaching the Mingus Orchestra model in sound quality, can provide "listening pleasure in lounge mode." Like Mingus Orchestra, Mingus Septet is planning to present to the general public at the High-End Munich exhibition, this will happen with a difference of 4 years.

The Marten Mingus Septet are four-way, seven-speaker floor standing speakers, including a 1-inch custom diamond tweeter, a 3-inch high-mid beryllium driver, a 7-inch ceramic midrange driver, and a pair of 8-inch woofers with aluminum honeycomb sandwich cones. Moreover, instead of phase inverters, the Mingus Septet uses a pair of 10-inch passive speakers, also with aluminum sandwich blocks.

The loudspeakers received Marten chrome-plated metal anti-resonance supports, developed with the participation of IsoAcoustics, extending beyond the projection of the cabinets. With a height of 126 cm, Mingus Septet weigh 95 kg each. The weight was added, including aluminum elements, which are responsible for the increased rigidity of the structure.

Inside, the Mingus Septet has a first-order crossover (which indicates a good selection of speakers), tuned to frequencies of 200, 800 and 6000 Hz. Jorma internal wiring can be replaced with Jorma Statement, thus upgrading the Mingus Septet to the Statement version - for European listeners, it will cost some 14,000 euros.

In addition, finishes and customization options are available for the Mingus Septet through the Marten Finishes program - parts with various lacquer finishes and even solid woods. This feature applies to all Mingus models. In the basic version, the Marten Mingus Septet floor standers work out the frequency range of 23-40,000 Hz with ±2 dB unevenness at a sensitivity of 89 dB / 2.83 V and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms.
