Google Assistant and 360-degree sound in a waterproof case

Chatting with a portable speaker without leaving the shower is quite realistic if it is the Acer Halo Swing presented at CES 2023. It combines Google Assistant support with IPX5 water resistance. That is, Halo Swing splashes should survive, but scuba diving is unlikely.

The column will report its status using a low-resolution raster display - the characters are perfectly visible through a continuous fabric shell in which Halo Swing is wrapped entirely. The behavior of the display and even the appearance of its characters can be adjusted in a proprietary mobile application.

At the base of the speaker is a transparent “color-music” support, everything is the same as in the original Acer Halo, but the shape of the body has become different. In addition to the aesthetic part, the "color music" Acer Halo Swing helps to understand the behavior of the Google Assistant - it makes communication much easier.

Halo Swing promises omnidirectional 360-degree sound, with a separate speaker responsible for low frequencies in the column. The device will be able to work on a single charge for 10 hours, and the Halo Swing can be charged both via a USBs-C cable and in the included wireless charging dock, which also complements the LED show below. When detached from the docking station, a detachable leather carrying strap comes in handy.

In addition to Bluetooth, the novelty is capable of receiving streaming audio via Wi-Fi, but details about this, as well as about the cost of the Acer Halo Swing, have not yet been published.
