Magnat Bulldog 7

an active speaker with professional ambitions

The German company Magnat has announced its Bulldog 7 column (the seventh iteration of a technique known since the 90s) as a professional device capable of sounding any event - and quite loudly. For this purpose, a 500-watt (at maximum) amplifier, a 35mm compression horn tweeter (of the kind used mostly in professional systems) and a pair of 10-inch speakers should be sufficient.

At the same time, Bulldog 7 may well correspond to the principle of "all-in-one" - on board there is a completely universal mixer for three inputs with a crossfader and a Bluetooth 5.0 module. It was supplemented by a 3-band equalizer, and the resulting sound by channels can be preliminary evaluated in headphones (mode similar to PFL). The controls are located on the top panel, and the commutation is on the side.

The novelty can work from the mains, and maybe from replaceable batteries for 94 Wh - and the case has a slot for recharging them (a full charge will take 5 hours). At full power, one battery will provide up to 5 hours of music. In a moderate mode, 20 hours are promised.

The Bulldog 7 weighed 35 kg, so the column was equipped with four strong transport rollers, two of which can be locked. Outwardly, the novelty is quite consistent with its professional identity. The brutal rectangular case made of MDF with a black finish is protected by massive plastic squares and is decorated with stencils with the brand name.
