Size definitely matters. The Focal outdoor speaker plays more powerful than most of the speakers in our test, and is waterproof and durable.

Speaker available in black or white in Focals Polyglass. It can be wall or ceiling mounted and comes with an easy-to-mount aluminum bracket.

After mounting on the canopy, the speaker can be rotated 180 degrees (the special shape of the housing allows this). The logo can also be rotated depending on whether you are placing the speakers horizontally or vertically. If desired, the cables can be threaded through the bracket and the terminals are hidden in a housing that is waterproof with IP66 certification and UV resistant.

If you think the OD8 is too big, there is a smaller Focal 100 OD6, but in our opinion the OD8 should be the one to choose. The speakers are equipped with an 8-inch Focal inverted aluminum tweeter woofer that surpasses all expectations.

SOUND FOCAL 100 OD 8

Focal's large speakers sound as they look. The sound is rich, the soundscape is wide and there is more than enough bass in them. The high frequencies may sound a little relaxed and closed, but the mids sound warm and well-focused. The party factor is definitely there if you like to make it louder.

Size gives more bass and volume, but we lack sophistication because when we switch from Billie Eilish to Vivaldi, there is a lack of air and resolution, which makes the strings sound a little rough. But listen to music like Ariana Grande, and the sound of Focal speakers immediately becomes the brightest and most attractive of all.

CONCLUSION

The Focal 100 OD8 is the obvious choice for those looking to throw a party in the garden or on the terrace. They play loud, and there is a lot of bass here. They are also easy to install, but a cabinet height of around 40 cm will not be suitable for everyone. As mentioned, there is a smaller OD6 with a 6.5-inch woofer, but we would choose the OD 8 due to the sheer brutality.
