Bang & Olufsen and Cecilie Manz unite to create Beosound A1 DUNE Crafted Edition

The Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 is a great Bluetooth speaker from the premium segment. Now they have teamed up with the Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz and created the "Dune Crafted Edition". The edition is 100 copies, which will only be available numbered from March 24th on www.bang-olufsen.com.

The unique gradient design created by Manz is handcrafted by bringing two colors together through a lengthy and demanding anodizing process specially developed by Bang & Olufsen. After extensive research and experimentation, the Bang & Olufsen team has developed a method of blending the colors together using gradients. Instead of spray paint, which would leave unwanted paint droplets on the grille, the color is applied by anodizing the metal, making each product unique.

The shades of matcha green and red beige on the aluminum grille blend seamlessly with the speaker's light gray underside. The leather strap is reminiscent of the color of sand dunes and is fitted with an aluminum plaque engraved with the Bang & Olufsen logo on one side and the number of the unique piece on the other.

If the design appeals to you, you'll have to dig deeper into your pockets for the special edition.
