At the end of the year, the British company Cyrus Audio decided to strengthen its XR and Classic lines of “half” audio components with stereo power amplifiers. The new products received the corresponding names: Power-XR and Classic Power. Cyrus promises them "clean engineering" and lower noise levels.

In addition to size, both models are also similar in parameters: they deliver 87 W per channel to 8-Ohm speakers. Both amplifiers operate in class A/B. Naturally, their owners will be able to feel the difference in the levels of the lines to which the amplifiers belong, for example, in the range of reproduced frequencies. Both operate practically from infrasound, but Power-XR - up to frequencies above 100 kHz, and Classic Power - only up to 50 kHz.

The half-width chassis of both new products corresponds to the design of their lines. Both terminals, in addition to speaker cable terminals, received line inputs on XLR and RCA, supplemented by a serial input, allowing you to add more power amplifiers.

Both have connectors for connecting external power supplies, Classic Power for the PSX-R2, and Power-XR for the PSU-XR, which, according to Cyrus, is “no less than five independent regulated power supplies in one case” and provides “ super-smooth power supply to the voltage amplifier.”

According to Ceri Williamson, head of research and development at Cyrus, "...these new amplifiers represent the latest advancements in power amplifier design." Both new products are already available for pre-order. “In hardware” their appearance is promised before the end of 2023.

In the UK, the Cyrus Power-XR stereo power amplifier costs £3,000 and the Classic Power costs £2,400.
