UE Premier in-ear headphones by Ultimate Ears: 21 armature drivers per channel

Ultimate Ears unveiled its flagship UE Premier in-ear headphones at NAMM 2023. Each of the two super-ergonomic (according to the developers), created in advanced 3D printing technology, houses 21 balanced armature drivers. Most of it comes from Knowles, the company that helped build the UE Premier, providing crossover selection and driver selection.

The crossover is a five-way passive circuit that distributes the signal to carefully selected and individually tuned drivers, namely a pair of dual low-frequency drivers, complemented by four dual mid-bass drivers. Then comes the quad midrange driver. At high frequencies, the True Tone driver from UE Pro is paired with the patented Quad Super Tweeter from Knowles.

Collectively, the UE Premier IEM are UE Pro's "most powerful, detailed and versatile in-ear headphones to date," according to the manufacturer. They work out the frequency range from 5 Hz to 40 kHz. The firm modestly points out that the kit includes "all types of accessories", and in addition - interchangeable front panels. The “Live” novelty is promised by mid-May 2023, but for now, pre-orders are open.

In the US, Ultimate Ears Pro UE Premier in-ear headphones are priced at $3,000.
