A relatively young company from Belfast, Titanic Audio, has released a series of three MC cartridges for turntables so far. “So far” follows from the designations: Model A, Model S and Model G. Between these letters in the alphabet there are still many vacancies.

The name Titanic corresponds to the design of the new products - their "ship" hulls correspond to the nautical theme. However, in relation to the plate, they move stern forward.

When creating new products, Titanic Audio used the experience of its subsidiary Titan Audio. All cartridges are handcrafted in Northern Ireland using acrylic, aluminum and carbon fibre. It is interesting that all three models win back the frequency range of 20 Hz - 20 kHz with an unevenness of ±1 dB. And even the recommended clamping force for them is also the same - 1.8 g. But the signal level differs.

The junior model A weighing 6.1 g is assembled in a CNC-machined acrylic case. Inside is a carbon fiber composite frame. The console is made of aluminum and has a conical hinge. The needle is diamond. A coil wound with oxygen-free copper with a cross section of 0.024 mm, with an impedance of 7 ohms, produces a signal with a swing of 0.35 mV at a frequency of 1 kHz at a speed of 5 cm / s.

A level higher is the S model, which has an already chrome-plated aluminum case, and weighs more - 9 g. The materials of the internal equipment are the same, but the OCC copper thread here has a cross section of 0.02 mm. As a result, the total resistance was 10.5 ohms.

The older of the three models under the letter G also has a case made of aluminum, but gilded. The weight has grown by 0.5 g, and the needle holder is made of boron. The 6 ohm coil is wound with 0.025 mm OCC copper wire. The Model G will output 0.28 mV (1 kHz, 5 cm/s).

The cost of new Titanic Audio in the UK is already known: Model A will cost £1,750, S - £3,500, and G - £8,500.
