Danish Bang & Olufsen sells a large part of electronics under the B&O Play sub-brand. If at the beginning of this decade (in 2011-2012) 50% of the company's profits came from TVs, and more budget devices under the B&O Play brand were responsible for only 13% of the profit, then in 2017-2018 the situation has seriously changed: the profit ratio is now 26 and 47% respectively, and speakers, headphones and other B&O Play devices become the most popular products of the company.

Bang & Olufsen divested of B&O Play brand

Since June 1, 2018, the company has gathered two brands under the common name Bang & Olufsen. The company will apply this mono-brand approach during 2018-2019 in marketing, device packaging, merchandising in offline stores, on digital platforms and elsewhere. The changes are already noticeable : small and budget speakers from the B&O Play series are already presented on the official Bang & Olufsen website, however, this sub-brand's online store is still separate.
